Lord Nelson Hotel in Old Town, Stockholm
On the famous tourist street Västerlånggatan in Old Town of Stockholm, between souvenir shops and restaurants lies Lord Nelson Hotel. A small little nice boutique hotel that is decorated with an amazing collection of marine antiques and ships on all four levels, and is part of The Collector’s chain of hotels. This is the perfect option for those who want a bit easier but still cozy staycation in Stockholm to a good price.
The building that Lord Nelson hotel is located in is from the 17th century and reminiscent of old time ships. With a width of almost six meters, the house on Västerlånggatan 22 in Old Town is without doubt Sweden’s narrowest hotel. Here you will find only 6 double rooms and many single rooms instead.
Check in
When I checked into Lord Nelson Hotel, I felt I was on board a ship and when I looked out the window I had Old Town’s cozy streets in front of me. Lord Nelson Hotel has only 29 rooms in the entire hotel. Already when when you step into the reception at Lord Nelson hotel, you feel this maritime feeling! 🙂
The Rooms
I lived in Captain’s Single Room which consisted of a single bed, a desk and a bathroom equipped with shower and hairdryer. There was also cable TV and wireless wifi.
These rooms are perfect for business travelers, tourists, or for those who want to be for yourself for a while and get away on a staycation. In addition of shopping on the street outside the hotel, you have plenty of restaurants, wine bars and pubs on both the same street as the hotel but also on the streets around which makes the offer for dinner and evening activities great!
The Hallways
The Lounge
Sit down at the front desk for an after work overlooking all the passing tourists and with Lord Nelson as a company. During summer, the hotel also has a rooftop terrace open between May and September, where you can take your food and drinks and enjoy the beautiful view of Stockholm’s rooftops.
I can really recommend Lord Nelson Hotel for a cozy staycation, whether you come here solo, as a couple or want to get away with a friend for a night or two. Don’t worry, there are double rooms here too 🙂 The location is truly unbeatable and very cozy!
The price is approximately 100 EUR per night for a single room and about 150 EUR per night for a double room, breakfast is included.
Have you stayed at Lord Nelson Hotel, what did you think? If not you can read more about their room options and the story behind the name Lord Nelson at their website that you find here.
